Department of Health warns public not to buy specific Kinder chocolate products, after salmonella scare

The Department of Health (MoH), out of an abundance of caution, is advising the public of a voluntary recall of the following products manufactured by Ferrero USA, Inc, Parsippany, New Jersey. These products were manufactured in a facility where Salmonella Typhimurium has been detected.

Following the detection, a voluntary recall was initiated by the manufacturer in the United States and published by the USFDA. The UK Food Standard Agency (FSA) has also advised the public not to consume the products.

The local agent confirmed that he had not imported any of the recalled products. However, since there may be other unrelated importers, the Department of Health advises the public to avoid purchasing any of the products listed. Recalled product details:

Some common symptoms that may be exhibited by people infected with Salmonella species include:

  • Fever, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain
