EU-ASEAN Business Council and Ministry of Health wish to intensify cooperation

The Executive Director of the EU-ASEAN Business Council, Chris Humphrey, on May 26 praised the Cambodian government for its effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic, which he attributes to the full resumption of social life in the Kingdom. , according to the Ministry of Health.

Humphrey also thanked the government for vaccinating foreign residents, including investors and business people, during a meeting with Health Minister Mam Bun Heng at the ministry.

“The Executive Director also thanked the Ministry of Health for its support and cooperation with European companies, in particular on the registration of health products. He also asked the ministry to continue to support and more broadly strengthen cooperation in the health sector,” said a press release from the ministry about the meeting.

Bun Heng expressed his appreciation for the Singapore-based Business Council and the Asia-Europe Foundation, the latter of which is collaborating with the Ministry of Health in organizing the Asia-Europe Forum on Combating Counterfeit Medical Products and those of lower quality.

He said “more than 4,000 types” of medical products from European countries have been registered with the ministry and are for sale in Cambodia.

The minister thanked the council and asked him to intensify cooperation with the ministry and promote EU-ASEAN partnerships, especially those concerning human resources, the statement added.
