Ooredoo donates essential health equipment to health centers

Ooredoo Maldives has announced its initiative to donate essential health kits to all health centers in the country.

The donation was initiated as part of Ooredoo Maldives’ efforts to promote good health in line with its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“Global Goals”). The company aims to help health centers provide essential and necessary care across the country through this initiative.

The initiative to donate the health kits was first revealed at a special meeting attended by Health Minister Ahmed Naseem, Ooredoo Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi and other senior officials to discuss ongoing areas of collaboration.

Donated health kits include essential equipment, stethoscope, digital sphygmamanometer, pulse oximeter, otoscope, digital thermometer and nebulizer.

COVID-19 has amplified the urgency and importance of maintaining good health and well-being.

Ooredoo Maldives said the company has planned several activities and initiatives that support and promote health and wellbeing as a CSR priority for the year 2022.

The company continues to support councils, hobby clubs and has sponsored several tournaments across the country to promote and encourage communities to adopt healthier lifestyles. One such example is Ooredoo Color Run, as of 2017 remains the biggest event where people of all ages take part in a fun 5K run that instills the importance of staying active.

As a community-driven company, Ooredoo Maldives has remained a close partner and facilitator connecting people to quality services, enabling access to necessary and important information, especially in times of crisis. Ooredoo Maldives has relied on its platforms to publicize measures against outbreaks of preventative diseases such as Dengue, Measles and many others.

Since the start of the pandemic, Ooredoo has continued to support communities with digital solutions and relief measures. In addition to essential connectivity support, mass awareness for Covid-19 prevention and relief, as well as digital solutions that enable online education, health services and businesses, in collaboration with the Ooredoo Group, Ooredoo Maldives has donated MVR 2.5 million to the Government of Maldives to acquire necessary equipment and supplies to fight the pandemic.

In 2018, Ooredoo Maldives also donated three sea ambulances, equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems, fully equipped with oxygen cylinders as well as other essential safety equipment to the Ministry of Health. to support the Government of the Maldives. efforts to provide quality health care to its citizens.
