Teen Outpatient Therapy Centers Reverse Negative Youth Mental Health Trends

“Adolescent anxiety, depression and suicide are at an all time high. And communities and families need better access to local, high-quality, affordable, adolescent-centered specialty services,” said Dawn Haliburton-Rudy, Executive Director of Embark at Campbell.

In its efforts to reverse the negative trends in youth mental health in our country, Embark Behavioral Health now operates several outpatient therapy centers across the country. These therapy centers offer adolescents in difficulty and their families outpatient mental health support, specialized and reimbursed by insurance.

The centers complement Embark’s continuum of industry-leading programs and are part of its internationally validated results platform. Embark’s Outcomes Platform assesses and measures the health of Embark families and students in real time and exceeds the highest industry standards for quality of care and safety, using a safety scale of 100 stitches to create joy and heal generations of families.

These outpatient centers of excellence allow families to get the help they need within their community. Additionally, the centers offer top-notch programming for professionals looking to recommend effective, accessible, and local solutions to families.

The latest state-of-the-art center has opened in Campbell, California, bringing the total number of Embark outpatient therapy centers to five. Like other centers, this location offers a strong continuum of insurance-reimbursed outpatient services, including outpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient programming (IOP), and therapeutic day programming (PHP). The centers also provide local support, including virtual and comprehensive treatment services for families who have teens returning from treatment placements.

“Adolescent anxiety, depression and suicide are at an all time high. And communities and families need better access to local, high-quality, affordable, adolescent-centered specialist services. This is exactly what our families will find in Embark, Campbell. At this critical time in our community, we can no longer afford to delay access to high-quality care,” said Dawn Haliburton-Rudy, Executive Director of Embark at Campbell.

According to “The 2020 California Children’s Report Card,” published by the Oakland-based advocacy organization Children Now, California received an “F” grade for its ratio of students to counselors, psychologists, social workers and nurses on school campuses. The report also notes that mental illness is the leading cause of hospitalizations among California children.

“Recognizing that adolescent mental health is at epidemic levels, we cannot sit back and continue to watch families get lost in their communities. As an industry, we must come together to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and create better access to high-quality treatment services,” said Alex Stavros, CEO of Embark Behavioral Health. “Problems in communities across the country are increasing and families cannot get the services and help they need. This problem can only be solved together and locally, which is why we will continue to invest in ambulatory care centers,” said Alex Stavros, CEO of Embark Behavioral Health.
