Today’s Top Digital Health Trends Revealed at HITLAB 2021 Innovator Summit

Earlier this month, healthcare leaders from various disciplines came together with thousands of attendees at the 8 HITLABand Annual Innovator Summit, held virtually over three days. The event, which drew attendees from around the world, featured a packed program with lectures, panel discussions, fireside chats, innovator showcases and breakout rooms.

“We were thrilled to have people from around the world at this year’s Innovator Summit. During the three-day event, experts presented varied and comprehensive topics, including evidence and new tools, technologies and terminologies related to how people implement and use digital health,” said Stan Kachnowski, President of HITLAB and Director of Columbia Business School, Digital Health Program. “We also delved into the important topic of diversity and inclusion in healthcare as well as the social determinants of health and the programs and solutions put in place to address these issues.”

This year’s summit, titled “Digital Health Economics in the New Normal,” opened with a tribute to Medidata CEO Glen De Vries and the screening of his latest lecture at Columbia Business School. Other presentations included keynote speeches by Bill Taranto of Merck Global Health Innovation Fund on The Future of Digital Health in 2022 and an expert in leadership and digital health, Donato Tramuto on benevolent leadership.

The event also featured distinguished speakers from other leading organizations such as the United Nations, US Department of Health and Human Services, Amazon Web Services, GSK, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and others who all shared their perspective on key topics impacting healthcare and highlighted some of the latest trends.

Some of the key topics/trends highlighted at the event include:

  • Use of Telemedicine in Chronic Care/Chronic Disease Management

Over the three days, innovators from around the world showcased their solutions and explained how they are being implemented and adopted to address unmet healthcare needs.
