PUTRAJAYA, Sep 14 – A ban notification of Night Cream ForU By D Ains Beauty Empire has been issued as it was found to contain scheduled poisons and is no longer allowed to be sold in Malaysia, Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

He said the National Drug Regulatory Agency (NPRA) of the Ministry of Health (MOH) detected that the cosmetic product containing hydroquinone, tretinoin and betamethasone 17-valerate, and the use of products containing such substances without the supervision of health professionals may cause adverse reactions. Side effects.

“Sellers and distributors of the cosmetic product should immediately stop selling the cosmetic product,” it said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham said the sale and distribution of the cosmetic breached the Medicines and Cosmetics Control Regulations 1984.

According to him, hydroquinone can cause redness when applied to the skin, discomfort, unwanted skin color changes, skin becoming hypersensitive, can prevent the process of pigmentation (depigmentation) which reduces the protection of the skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays and may increase the risk of skin cancer.

He said unsupervised use of tretinoin could make the affected area red, uncomfortable, painful, scaly and hypersensitive to the sun.

Betamethasone 17-valerate can make facial skin thin and irritable, turn into skin pigment, and increase the chance of it being absorbed into the bloodstream and causing harmful effects.

“Members of the public using the cosmetic product are advised to stop immediately and seek the assistance of a medical professional if they experience any discomfort and adverse effects,” he said.
